- Coordinate berth assignment, mooring, and safe access for crew and port officials.
- Prepare vessel for cargo operations: check readiness of cranes, cargo gear, and hold/hatch access.
- Arrange customs, immigration, and quarantine inspections, ensuring all documentation is prepared and accessible.
- Confirm cargo stowage plan and verify conditions for hazardous or sensitive cargos.
- Conduct lashing and securing checks after loading/during unloading; verify twist locks, hatch covers, lashings.
- Supervise and monitor all cargo transfer operations, including tallying, sampling, and condition surveys.
- Manage supply of water, lubricants, stores, provisions, and technical gases as required.
- Oversee bunkering, tank cleaning, waste disposal, and slops management in accordance with port safety/environment rules.
- Provide repair support including onboard welding, refrigeration maintenance, and emergency equipment servicing.
- Maintain open communications between ship, shore agents, pilots, and port authorities.
- Implement and audit ISPS/port security requirements, with crew access control and visitor logs.
- Ensure accurate recordkeeping for all cargo, supplies, crew changes, and inspections.
- Arrange crew changes and shore leave; coordinate with husbandry and protective agents for local support.
- Address and resolve any operational issues, delays, or emergencies through port agent intervention.
